Clear the Air With A Bathroom Exhaust Fan

"EXCUSE ME, BUT COULD SOMEONE TURN ON THE FAN... THE AFRICAN VIOLETS ARE DYING!"

Ceiling/Wall FanReplacing a pesky bathroom exhaust fan can be as simple as 1-2-3... with maybe a 4 or 5 thrown in, but not as hard as repairing mildew stained walls and ceilings!

If you are looking for information on installing a new bathroom fan, sorry to disappoint you, but you won't find it here. All the manufacturers give detailed instructions with their fans, and it just doesn't make any sense to repeat them here.

However, I hope the hints offered here will help you to keep your existing fan humming along (quietly, of course), and help you to choose a new fan should that day arise! Enjoy!!

Choosing the perfect bathroom exhaust fan

My bathroom fan is getting very noisy. Is it difficult to replace or repair it?

Could you please tell me the CFM (cubic feet per minute) that is needed to properly ventilate a bathroom approximately. 6' X 8' x 8'.  There is no window to help out the ventilation and my wife is threatening to send me to the closest gas station!

I want to buy a quiet fan. Can you explain the way manufacturers rate their fans?
